This is an abbreviation, which comes from Milano (Milan), the city where it was designed, and Torino (Turin), the city where it was intended for assembly. In Italian “mito” has the special significance, meaning “myth”, so it was intended to be a legendary car. In the same year, it was introduced to the international public at the British Motor Show. This is a splendid three-door compact front-wheel drive hatchback, which could be rival the MINI and the Audi A1. Although MiTo merits the highest score already, it is still being constantly improved.
